impART: Create art. Heal the heart.

 

We are excited to announce that Israel Crooks will be launching his arts-based program for at-risk youth, impART, to the Hannah Town Community on May 29th and 30th. Many thanks to Fr. Rohan Tulloch and the St Annes Catholic Church Parish for their invitation.

 

The 2-day program will provide 2 meals, snack and drinks for all participants, in addition to all necessary art supplies at no cost to them. After the 2-day event, mentorship through the canvas will continue on a weekly basis for 6 weeks.

 

Since August 2013, Israel has used painting to break down communication barriers with at-risk teenagers at his own home, restoring their channels of positive self-expression, both verbally, and on the canvas. The results have been astounding. Participants have quit the use of drugs such as cocaine and marijuana, returned to school on a full-time basis, and have forsaken participation in crime-related activities within a matter of weeks.
